Parking Pin · Find your car

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 23, 2026

Parking Pin is built on a simple idea: the app that remembers where you parked has no business knowing anything else about you. This policy explains — in plain English — exactly how that works.

We don't collect your data. There's no account, no tracking, and no server. Your parking spot stays on your phone.

What we don't collect

To be specific and honest, here is everything Parking Pin does not do:

  • No account, signup, or login — you just open the app and use it.
  • No personal information — no name, email, phone number, or device ID.
  • No analytics or usage tracking of any kind.
  • No advertising and no ad identifiers.
  • No third-party SDKs — no Firebase, no crash reporters, no trackers.
  • No cookies and no cross-app or cross-site tracking.
  • No location history — only your single, most recent saved spot exists.

How location works

When you save a parking spot, Parking Pin reads your current GPS coordinates once and writes them straight to your device. That's the whole transaction.

The coordinates are never uploaded, never associated with an identity (there isn't one), and never leave your phone. Because everything is local, the app is offline-first — it works in a dead-zone parking garage with zero bars, and it never depends on a network connection to save or show your spot. You can revoke Location access anytime in iOS Settings; the app simply won't be able to drop a new pin until you grant it again.

Where your spot is stored

Your saved parking spot is stored locally in the iOS Keychain — the same encrypted, hardware-backed store iOS uses for passwords and passkeys. It stays on your device, protected by the system.

The app never connects to a server, never calls home, and never sends your data anywhere. There is no backend to connect to, because we didn't build one.

Photos (optional)

You can optionally attach a photo — of your parking level, bay number, or a nearby landmark — to help you find your car. This is entirely up to you.

If you grant photo access, any photo you add is stored on-device only, alongside your spot. Photos are never uploaded, analyzed, or shared. Photo access is optional, and the app works fully without it.

Apple privacy features we rely on

Parking Pin leans on the platform instead of building its own data plumbing:

  • Keychain for encrypted, on-device storage of your spot.
  • System location permission — access is requested only when you save a spot, and you're always in control.
  • No special entitlements beyond Location and (optional) Photos. No background tracking, no Always-On location, no network entitlement is needed.

No third-party services

There are no third parties. No analytics provider, no advertising network, no cloud database, no crash-reporting service. Because nothing leaves your device, there is no one for us to share data with — and nothing to share.

Your rights & control

You are always in complete control of your data because it only ever lives on your phone.

  • Clear your spot anytime from within the app.
  • Revoke permissions (Location or Photos) anytime in iOS Settings.
  • Delete everything instantly by deleting the app — that removes your saved spot and any photos from the device. There's nothing left on a server, because there was never anything there.

Compliance & children

Parking Pin isn't tailored to any single regulation, but its design is honestly compliant with the spirit of privacy laws like the GDPR and CCPA: we practice data minimization by collecting nothing, so there is no personal data to access, export, correct, sell, or delete on our end.

The app does not knowingly collect information from children — or from anyone — because it does not collect information at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. The current version is always available here, and the Privacy Policy link appears in the app's Settings so you can reach it anytime.
